Terra Obscura
I was quite honored to be a part of this show, Terra Obscura, put on by the Upper Six Hundreds, which took place last night. Actually, saying that it "took place" isn't quite the right phrase... it's more like it exploded into being in a shower of light and music! Basically the show was incredible, and thank you thank you to everyone who came out, and especially to the Upper Sixers for putting so much time and effort into transforming their home into such a magical space.
My contribution to the show:
"Demon Host"
15x20, oil on board
and a detail of the brushwork... I'm quite pleased with how this part came out.
Hope you enjoy!

wet hot, babes
Thanks everyone who came out to the Wet Hot American Summer show at Gallery 1988 last week. Even David Wain himself was there, who could ask for more?
My humble contribution to the show: "Sunset over Camp Firewood". 14x18, oils, for sale at Gallery 1988. This really looks phenomenally better in person so make sure you get over to the gallery and check out the show if you can!
Aaaaand since this seems to strangely fit into the theme of this post, here's some figure drawings from the first uninstructed session over at Korpus School in downtown LA. It's a great new atelier run by a good friend of mine, if you're in the area be sure to drop in on the Saturday morning sessions. Thanks to the model, Russia, for being so badass!
(my favorite of the day, the top left reclining pose)
