Three new drawings for the Paper Pushers show at Gallery 1988 in San Francisco. I'm really happy with these, but the scans don't really do them justice... go check them out in person at the show if you're in the bay area!

I did these three little studies for the PIN 4 (Power In Numbers) show at Gallery Nucleus, but also to warm up and get back in the groove for two pretty big paintings that I'm about to start. more on that as it progresses. hope everyone is well!

Figure drawing is probably the most fun thing ever. I'm finally getting around to posting all the drawings that have been piling up for the past few weeks from Thursday night drawing sessions at Otis College in LA. One day I will invest in a proper method of photographing these... promise!

eowynn study

You know how some days you just can't draw, or think of stuff to draw, or really do anything much at all? The past two weeks have been like that for me. sigh. time to get the juices flowing. Anyway, here's a little doodle I did the other day to start brainstorming for this epic painting I've got in the works. It's based on the story of Eowynn slaying the Nazgul, this is sort of an idea about Eowynn's character. man... I'm a nerd.

This is my humble contribution to the SModcast show that opened last night at Gallery 1988 here in LA. The show is dedicated to Kevin Smith's podcast radio show, SModcast. My piece is about an episode where Kevin Smith runs into the guy from Foreigner in the cereal aisle of a grocery store, mistakes him as British, and starts attacking him for singing his own songs in public.

busy busy!

So! I've been super busy the past few weeks working on a new series of paintings for an upcoming spotlight show at 88point5.com, an online gallery run by Gallery 1988. The show will be up on their website from October 10th -31st, everyone please check it out! I'll post more info as the date approaches. Here's a couple sneak peek images:

I was gonna wait until this was printed and distributed so I could show the finished product in shiny plastic and all, buuuut that will take a while and I am impatient! I've been working on an album cover and cd art for a friend's band the past couple weeks. They're called Matt Kollar and the Angry Mob, and they're amazing musicians and great people. Anyway, I did some graphite rendering and am working on adding colors in photoshop. here is the linework:

Drow Vs. Mindflayer!
