sirens

ta daaa! the finished piece for the Post-Penumbra show last weekend! did some watercolor and gouache washes on top of the graphite drawing, bit of a journey into the unknown, but I learned a lot and I think it came out alright.

Lovely Allie! Every time I've tried with graphite it smeared on me (so now I just use colorase), did you seal it or spray fix it first or just dive in carefully with the washes? Rives BFK?

I hope you keep making work this way!

it's on 300lb arches watercolor paper, which isn't as smudge-prone as rives since its not so smooth. and a little bit of spray fix before the color washes did the trick for me!

It turned out awesome. Well it was awesome before it was framed, but now even "awesomer" (made that word up).
